Safely operate a grader in the civil construction industry

COURSE OVERVIEW – This unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a excavator in the civil construction industry

  • Planning & preparing
  • Conducting machine pre-operational checks
  • Hazard identification, assess risks and control measures
  • Communication methods
  • Systematic and efficient control of all vehicle functions,
  • Lifting, carrying and placing materials
  • Selecting, removing and fitting attachments.
  • Relocating equipment
  • Clean, check and maintain plant and equipment
  • Clean up work area
DURATION – 1/2 day, 8:00am – 12:00pm – student who is a highly experienced operator with a filled 10 hour logbook which must be signed off by a licenced operator.
1 full day, 8:00am – 4:00pm – student who has minimal to no experience.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW & DO –

  • You will be required to conduct mathematical calculations throughout this course
  • You must supply 100 points of identification, including (1) form of current photo
  • Wear comfortable and practical clothing and enclosed footwear
TRAINING & ASSESSMENT – Two (2) assessments will be conducted at the completion of training – Knowledge and Practical Assessments.

REASSESSMENT – Applicants deemed not yet competent will be provided the opportunity to undergo further training. Fees may apply for further training and reassessment.

LICENCES & CERTIFICATION – This course is a Nationally Recognised Training and applicants’ deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment for RIIMPO320F and a wallet-size competency card.
